Up to $149 from about $30

So I used $4.40 to play for a $26 dollar token, which I used to win a $75 token. Then I used that token to play a $69 + $6 SnG... I placed 3rd.

So that's sketch.. I have a bankroll now. Time to take on the big stakes.
so that $69 + $6 Sit and Go I was going to play in... I placed 3rd. AK being my demise as was it for the 4th finisher.

deton8whore's run on fulltilt poker

In June, I began online poker, already knowing how to play. I started out playing in private freerolls, obviously having to hunt down passwords. I was successful in doing so... but my money finishes were never enough to get me started in a $1 + $0.25 Sit and Go. I then joined http://thedonkeyfarm.com/forums/index.php to play in their freeroll, I cashed it for $2.50 and played 2 $1 + $0.25 Sit and Go's. Finished in 1st both times I ended up with $9... then the fun started.

This was about half way through July, now starting in August, my goal was to be playing the one a day freeroll for August. I was required to obtain at least one full tilt point per day which could be acquired through a $1 Sit and Go.

Realizing I'd be playing $1 Sit and Go's for awhile got me thinking up a strategy to cash these consistently. I created my own strategy which puzzled a lot of poker players, which I knew it would because they would assume I am stupid for doing so. Anyways, a week later I am sitting on a $30 bankroll from these $1 Sit and Go's.

I knew I was ready to move up, but move up to what? $2 Sit and Go's weren't any better. I decided I'd play the Tier One $4 + $0.40 Sit and Go with payouts as such:

1st: $26 Satellite Token
2nd: $10

I knew I was putting myself at a disadvantage by entering a 9 man tournament with only 2 paying positions, but I looked at the ones already running and they looked very easy to cash. My first attempt didn't work out so well.. with a 3rd place finish. I played this 2 more times, finishing 1st and 2nd both times. I then used that token to play a $24 + $2 Sit and Go, 9 man paying structure looking like this:

1st - 2nd: $75 Satellite Token
3rd: $66

I had my heart set on getting 3rd place. I was short stacked until we got 5 handed, which then I started picking up some hands. I eventually took the chip lead after knocking out the 5th player. The 4th player to exit made a stupid move with a low ace, resulting in a 4th place finish. Sadly for him, he was sitting in 2nd chip position. I had healthy lead over the other 2 players, but I wanted to finish 3rd... I didn't have a say in it though as the 2nd place player knocked out the 3rd place player with K-6 vs 10-8, after I folded 8-8. Ouch.

Now I wait for that $69 + 6 Sit and Go to start.
